ParticipantI have recently purchased Event Tickets Plus and Event Calendar Pro to support events on our site http://qsite.edu.au/ after a false start with another event plugin. After purchase I became aware of conflict due to Ajax usage between the theme (Bridge) and your plugin(s). Bridge is an excellent and popular theme so the clash is very disappointing.
I have found a number of entries which documents the conflict on both support areas including https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/very-buggy-with-bridge-theme/ and https://qode.ticksy.com/ticket/457871/ and https://qode.ticksy.com/ticket/799364.
As such , I disabled page transitions in Bridge which at least makes the site usable. However, a LayerSlider on the home page doesn’t show leaving a white space on the home page. Disabling The Events Calendar + Pro plugins makes the slider reappear.
Are there some things/settings/code that I can do in The Events Calendar & Calendar Pro (or LayerSlider) to get the LayerSlider to appear again.
Are you aware of issues with LayerSlider and Events Calendar, under different themes??
I am also asking the QODE (Bridge theme) folks.

MemberHi, Mark. I understand it can be frustrating when experiencing something like this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention and that of the theme author.
We do not provide theme integration support, per our Scope of Support / Terms, but many themes have chosen to build in integration for our plugin(s).
Because a theme essentially runs the entire site, the theme should really be the one to integrate with our plugin if they are loading things differently than how WordPress does by default.
If there’s actually a plugin (e.g. slider) conflict, you should see if you can replicate the issue with a WordPress default theme like Twenty Sixteen. If you can’t, then we know the theme is at play here, too. If you can, then we should focus on just that plugin instead of the theme and plugin together with our plugin(s).
Please keep me updated with what the Bridge theme’s support shares with you.
Thanks!

ParticipantSadly both you guys and the theme provider write about the other having to integrate with the other. To be honest, I was hoping for more from both as a plugin and theme of some substance. As a web developer, that response is frustrating where clearly my request was to try to get some suggestions for a workaround. I get that plugins cannot be tested/integrated with every theme and vice versa.
In the meantime, I have replaced the slider with an image gallery which works fine.
So again I ask, are you aware of issues with LayerSlider and Events Calendar, under different themes or are they known to work together OK?

MemberI understand the frustration getting stuck in the middle on something like this; it’s just part of the WordPress ecosystem from time-to-time.
There is a list of themes that have integration with our plugin, although we don’t promote or prefer them; it’s just an FYI.
Specific to LayerSlider, I assume it would have the same limitations as other sliders: that it can read custom post types and their custom fields, but they don’t know how to handle our specific plugin’s custom field data (e.g. sorting events by datetime).
You could reference our Slider Revolution KB article. Many of the references there could probably work similarly for any other slider.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

ParticipantI am too far down the path with both the theme and the Events plugin to warrant changing either now. I have replaced the Slider with an Image gallery which isn’t as good but does the job to the client’s satisfaction.
You can close this ticket.
