ParticipantIs there a way to set the checkout quantity field to default as 1? It is set to zero which is bad usability. We are using Event Tickets Plus with Event Calendar Pro.

ParticipantHowdy touchpoint,
A third party wrote an awesome tutorial on this, that I’ll link to because they laid it out so nicely: http://clicknathan.com/web-design/customizing-wootickets-for-events-calendar/
Basically when you only have 1 ticket available for your event, it does make sense to default to 1. However many of our users have multiple tickets available, and if they all default to 1 then click Add To Card adds all those tickets to the cart. This is unexpoected for the user and makes for angry customers thinking you are trying to slip in extra products to their cart. So I would only do this modification if you only offer 1 ticket per event.
Does that all make sense? Will that work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantThank you for your reply Brook. Before I make changes on the live site I just want to clarify what you are saying.
We have multiple tickets on sale for one event, let’s say 20 tickets. If we set the default value to “1” and the user clicks add to cart, they will not have “1” ticket added to their cart, they will have all “20” tickets added to their cart? The user only wants 1.

ParticipantGood question. Our product allows you to add multiple tickets to an event. Say you run a stadium and have a Standard seat ticket, a box ticket, and a VIP one. Each of these will have their own amount of tickets available (stock). If you set it so that the ticket defaults to 1 instead of 0, then when a user hits add to cart by default they will have a standard seat, a box, and a VIP added to their cart. Three total. That is why our plugin defaults to 1. So when you have multiple tickets available a user does not add all of them to the cart. Instead a user must explicitly choose which type of ticket they want and how many.
But for people who only sell 1 ticket per event, and a user can purchase as many of that ticket as needed, then sometimes people want the ticket quanitity to default to 1 instead of 0.
Does that all make sense?

ParticipantIt does make perfect sense. thank you for taking the time to explain in such detail. I will give that solution a go, as we are only ever selling one type of ticket at a time.
