ParticipantThis article only gives a list of roles and permissions; however, it does not contain the capabilities. For example, if you wanted a basic user to have the ability to just check-in attendees. This does not give the exact role and permissions required to obtain said ability of just checking in. If I was to use a member plugin as you suggested I would still have to create a user, what generic role do I assign? Then when creating permissions for a specific member, what permissions do we assign to allow the user only permission to check-in attendees?
I tried adding all of the basic permissions, below, with a Contributor role as I do not want them to have the ability to add new blog post, etc. but the user did not have permission to check-in attendees nor undo a check-in.

KeymasterHi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I will try to help with your question.
The items listed on the knowledgebase page you linked to are the capabilities. Permissions and capabilities are two words for the same thing. There is not a special capability for checking in attendees.
The roles that can do this by default are admin and editor. Playing around with the Member’s plugin, I discovered that giving the “contributor” role the capability of “edit others’ posts” made the check-in button display, while I could not in fact, “edit any posts.”
Not sure why this is set up this way.
Hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any additional questions about this.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Sky,
Thanks for the response. Yes I realized the same as I was playing with the different capabilities, but this is too much access to give someone I want to just check in my customers. Do you have an idea how to create a user that the only thing they can do is check-in folks with Modern Tribe Ticket Plus app?
Kind regards,

KeymasterHi again,
Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a way around this at the moment. I asked some of my colleagues about this, and the idea of creating a unique role or capability for managing attendees is something being discussed for the future.
I looked at the relevant code, and it seems that “edit_posts” is hardcoded in there, with no filters allowing it to be changed.
Sorry I didn’t have better news for you on this.
Thanks,
