This feature is essential for a simple thing like the website paying for itself. To run a website with all the addons that you provide is efficient but becomes an expensive hobby if it can’t pay for itself – ie. via paid submissions from the general public. Having spent alot of time on developing the market for my website I find it quite disheartening that this feature still isnt added, and was hoping it would have been in this latest release. But alas, this is not so.

Im not sure about others that use your wonderful plugins, but personally I have all of your pro plugins, and very little income for all this spend. Its unsustainable. But with the amount of community submissions I have on my site, it wouldn’t be so if I could charge for submissions.

You announced 4 months ago that this was planned development. Please, please please can you let us know when this is planned for as I personally would need to redevelop my site in the next few weeks as my licences that I have from you guys will expire soon, and I need to know if I will renew them or try to find another way to make my site sustainable.

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks Michelle for posting this… I need this feature as well (I am sure many people do). Your right that running an event website is hard to do without being able to charge for submissions once you get an audience.
I am working on a solution that will allow people to pay for “featured” submissions via my mobile apps and website. Rather then using the community events add-on, I created a separate form that takes in submitted data and then forces them to pay if they want their event to be featured on the website. The drawback for now is that I to re-input the data… but hey I am getting paid 🙂

On my mobile apps (Speed Culture), I plan to give people a choice inside the app. If they select featured they will be taken to a checkout within the app. I am not sure if this will help you or not.

Hopefully in the NEAR future Modern Tribe will put payment options inside their PRO version so people like us can make some revenue easier.

    Hey Michelle,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

I see you’ve joined the conversation on our Uservoice page which is great! That is the best way to get updates on these specific type of features.

Unfortunately, I can’t give an exact date on when this will be released but I can say that it is on the roadmap and there has been active development on getting this integrated.

However, there are other options you can pursue to help monetize and accomplish what you’re describing here. One option would be to turn your site into a membership site. That way, you can charge users to become a “subscriber” on your site and then only allow submission of new events to logged in subscribers.

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks!

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
