I want to used the sidebar widgets but they keep coming up with english headers despite the rest of the plugin running in Polish. Where and what should I edit to translate the headers, such as “Upcoming Events”?

    Hi Wojciech,

Please take a look at our FAQ concerning translation here: https://theeventscalendar.com/faq/can-i-change-the-language-that-the-content-of-my-calendar-appears-in-on-the-site/

Thanks Jonah for a quick answer but it seems like I can’t find that string in the .po file. I’ll look again tomorrow.

Ok, I check the pl_PL.po files in both the events calendar and the events calendar pro folders. Every single instance of “Upcoming Events” is translated properly, yet the widget still shows the english header.

And you’ve properly set the LANG identifier in wp-config.php? Make sure you are following all the instructions as described in our FAQ.

    Yep, it’s on pl_PL (by default – it’s a PL WP install).

    Hi Wojciech,

So it turns out this string is not setup to be translated to begin with. I will request it be added but for now you can either input the translated string right into the widget in the widget options or the more involved route, actually register your own version of the widget with a translatable string. Let me know if you’d like to go the latter route and I’ll provide some instructions.

    Thanks,
    Jonah
