Changing text on entry form and confirmation

Sorry for such a basic question but I did a search and couldn’t find the answer — I would like to just add a couple of lines of simple text at the top of the submit form /community/add. Since it’s a virtual page I am not sure where to do that.
It would be nice to change the confirmation text as well. Instead of “Event Submitted” I should change it to tell the user their event will show up after it’s reviewed.

Laura,
You can do this by performing a Template Override on event-form.php. This will allow you customize the code of that page to display some text above the <form> element.
