Changing event dates by import

HI! New to teh Event Calendar and so far my client has liked it. The CSV import is what they use most to update the calendar. I know with the current setup, it will update an event if title and start date are the same. What my client needs is to be able to update the start date without creating a new event. Basically, they have meetings that are being scheduled and then all imported. Sometimes though, they need to make a change to the date.

Is there any way to use the title as the unique ID so if only the title is the same, it will update as opposed to creating a new event? I do not see anything in the documentation or backend to do this. I was wondering if there was code that could be hidden or modified to do this. (I can see the need also to have more value trigger a modify, but not for this client.)

Hi @superiorns,

I’m not sure that you will be able to do that without some customization work – the CSV importer was designed primarily to import new events rather than function as a mass update tool. So, at this time, though we’d welcome any feature requests you might post along these lines, we’d need to leave it to you to figure out anything else you need above and beyond the expected default behaviour.
