ParticipantWe don’t have “tickets,” we have a course registration fee. How do I change this term in areas such as the heading (above the add-to-cart area) and “You have 1 Ticket for this Event” and “View your Tickets”?

MemberGood evening Wendy and welcome to the Events Calendar Support forum!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. You could tweak apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/8c94dbcd36332525e4b42a7d74378596
Of course, please use an FTP editor and make a backup of your functions.php file first.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantThis doesn’t appear to work. I have put it (without the PHP tag) in the functions.php file of the child theme (monroeinfrared_theme) and the parent theme (The 7) and when I reload this page, it still reads “tickets.”
https://1707.monroeinfrared.com/event/charlestonsc-infrared-training-level-i-certification-2/Am I doing something wrong?

MemberGood evening Wendy,
Thank you for writing back.
I am sorry to hear this did not work for you.I am not exactly sure why that is.
Can you ?:
- Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme and child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.
Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made. - Tell me if you are using any type of caching plugin (including through WordFence) ?
- Tell me if you are using custom language strings already ?
Hang in there!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
I think the can’t-add-to-cart issue was related to another issue I had solved by a WooCommerce developer because it’s now fixed (Phew!). So now I’m back to asking for your help to change the “tickets” terminology. I did update the WooCommerce customizations in my theme files. And I tried your new snippet and it didn’t seem to change the word. Next step?

MemberGood morning Wendy,
I am glad to see you managed to tackle the “Add to cart” issue!
I am still waiting for an explanation from our coding ninjas.
In the meantime, I do have a solution for the “You have %s for %s” part. You can fix that with a view customization for the order-links.php file.
You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.Simply put the following file in [your-theme]/tribe-events/tickets/orders-link.php : orders-link
You can adjust the text around line 36.
Let me know how that goes.
Best regards,

ParticipantHi Geoff,
I think as a consequence of updating things to the latest versions, the “You have %s for %s” part went away. So the only thing I still need help with is the word “Tickets” on events, like so: https://www.monroeinfrared.com/event/itc-level-i-dallas-tx-national-training-center/
Let me know when your coding ninjas have a fix for that?
Thanks
Wendy

ParticipantI take that back, we just hid the “Tickets” title for now. A reasonable temporary fix, but it will be good to implement the real one when you have it.
Thanks!

MemberHey Wendy,
I am glad the latest updates helped.
Normally the word “Ticket” should be handled by my snippet. But I am glad you have a sufficient workaround for now.
If you don’t mind, I would love to take a look at your latest theme files (including the changes you have made).
Have a great day!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
