Change the word ticket to Event

HI,
I want to edit the email sent to people who buy tickets to say Event rather than Ticket.
Can you advise me on how to do this?

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

The simplest way to achieve this is to customize the email.php file located in /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/src/views/tickets/

You might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how that works.

Basically, you can edit that file to your liking and insert it in the correct path under your theme’s  /tribe-events/ folder.

Hi Geoff,
Yes I had looked inside the file email.php file located in /wp-content/plugins/event-tickets/src/views/tickets/
and the heading used for the table inside the email seem to be called in, they are not sitting there in a format that can be edited. I want to change the word ticket to Event, but the word ticket does nto seem to be there in that file? Maybe I ma missing something? I checked the theme guide but it does not deal with this.

This is quite disappointing. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Could you please send me a copy of the latest version of your WordPress theme / child theme via a link to a .zip file link (stored Dropbox or Google Drive) so that I can run some tests on my end ? I recommend a private reply for that purpose.

Please ensure you are using the latest files as found on your actual website.
This way I will get access to any updates or customizations you might have made.

Could you also confirm if you are looking to replace the word “ticket” by “event” everywhere, or only in specific places ?

Hi Geoff
Its just on the email that goes to the customer after they have bougtht a ticket that I am trying to replace, do do I just need to send you the files related to that? They are not theme files,

The theme files would have been the fastest way to see what was done.
However, the following combination should work.

You could apply the following snippet in the functions.php file of your theme (without the PHP tag at the top): https://gist.github.com/GeoffEW/8c94dbcd36332525e4b42a7d74378596

Please edit the snippet to remove any undesired change.
