We’ve implemented the code here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-text-for-ical-and-google-calendar-export-buttons/
And now we’re getting two sets of export buttons on the single event page:

It looks like theย remove_action part of that snippet isn’t working for you, and I experienced the same when I tried out that snippet.
Please replace all the code from that help article with this new code snippet:

I’ll see about getting that KB article updated too.
Please let me know if you have any follow-up questions on this topic.

I’m not sure about the GCal text you have in there. It says “Export the Map”.Here’s what we ended up with. We made a plugin so it was cleaner for installs on other client sites. Thoughts?

If you want to share your code, I can give it a quick look-over. Otherwise, I think you’re good to go if I understood your response correctly. ๐

I’d LOVE to share my code with you as it started throwing errors and locked out my client from the dashboard ๐Have a looksee:

Well I tried to review https://gist.github.com/tarfoot/a0c0c2c11467aa86556b0dc34e34c44e.js but it seems to be minified or otherwise not be very “review-able”
Do you have it in a more readable format?
And it has .js on the end of that link. Is this an actual file on your server? If yes, where is it located and what code is implementing it (e.g. PHP including it)?
Thanks.

October 25, 2016 at 3:36 pm #1182844CliffMemberEverything looks fine.
You said it “started throwing errors and locked out my client from the dashboard”
If it’s not working for you, please tell me where you’re placing this file (I assume in /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-addtocal-buttons.php), in which case you should make sure the plugin is activated.
You might need to remove the closing PHP line:
?>

Thanks for hanging in there with me on this issue.I’ve updated the plugin code but I’m still getting a weird error about cookies on the login page.
new code: https://gist.github.com/tarfoot/a0c0c2c11467aa86556b0dc34e34c44e
I’ve attached the error message on the login page.

October 26, 2016 at 1:46 pm #1183392CliffMemberThat has nothing to do with your code snippet / mini plugin you shared.
Googling for that error, I found this article from earlier this year:ย http://www.steckinsights.com/how-to-fix-a-cookies-blocked-error-on-wordpress-admin-dashboard/
I cannot guarantee its accuracy or thoroughness, but I believe it suggests you may need to look into your site’s caching settings in addition to other settings.
I hope this helps.
I’ll close this thread now since the main issue is resolved and we like to keep each thread to a single topic.
Thanks!
