Change Permalinks to be based on categories

I have the WordPress install on a subdomain setup to be “events.mydomain.com”
Could the “The Events Calendar” plugin be modified to change change my event permalink structure to be “events.mydomain.com/event-category/event-name”? And the category archive permalink structure to be “events.mydomain.com/events-category/”?
This would make much more sense for my users and be far more SEO friendly.

There is a similar “No Category Base” (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-no-category-base/) plugin, but it does not work for custom taxonomies such as this events plugin.

Unfortunately changing the permalink structure (outside of the basic settings we provide here: http://cl.ly/image/0U0V410T1f1N) is not currently possible without more heavy customization and is not something we will be able to assist with. If you want you can request this as a possible feature for a future version too: http://tribe.uservoice.com
