ParticipantHello,
I just changed the event slug but it does not change.
When I navigate to that slug it goes to an other page. Will I be able to change the slug for other languages using wpml?
Old: http://vvv-nl.webalist.eu/events/single-post-name/
New: http://vvv-nl.webalist.eu/evenementen/single-post-name/ (not working)
Regards,

MemberHi there, Richard! Thanks for getting in touch. 🙂
Do you happen to have another page on your site with the same or similar slug (/evenementen)? That can certainly cause the conflict you’re describing here. If you do have a page with that slug, please remove it and see if that clears things up. You may need to flush your permalinks as well to see a change (Settings > Permalinks, click Save).
Will I be able to change the slug for other languages using wpml?
That’s a good question, but I’m afraid that The Events Calendar is not currently compatible with WPMLÂ and other multilingual plugins.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

ParticipantOhhh that is not good… no multilingual support for a plugin this popular… I really didn’t expect this. This is a large custom design website in the making.
Is there no other way to achieve different slug per language?
Is it a good idea to edit the templates to make them multilingual?Regards

MemberHey Richard–thanks for following up!
Yeah, I’m sorry for the bad news there. We’re looking into ways for how we can better integrate multilingual tools like WPML into The Events Calendar but, as you might imagine, there’s a lot that needs to go into that on both ends to make it happen.
Editing the templates to make them multilingual could possibly work. While I don’t have any examples of that, we do have documentation for modifying calendar templates in our Themer’s Guide that I would suggest checking out.
Sorry for the bad news! I realize that this is likely a huge letdown for you, so we’d be willing to offer you a refund if The Events Calendar isn’t fully living up to your needs. Just email us at support [at] theeventscalendar.com, and reference this thread with your order number and we can handle that for you.
Cheers!
