Change event permalink

A single event permalink seems to be in the form of “Post Name”. I would like to display event permalinks as “Day and Name”. Changing WordPress’s permalink type does not seem to affect event permalinks with the except of the default style. Is there a way to change event permalink styles? Thanks.
