I am unable to find a solution on how to change the strings on all words saying “Arrangementer” (events).

I would like it to say “hendelser”.

Is there a easy way to do this? I have used poedit and changed all instances of “Arrangementer” to “hendelser”, but no change.

All language files are stored in /wp-content/languages/plugins

Good evening Børge and welcome back!

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic.

I believe you are on the right track with the language files.
But bear in mind that these have to be maintained and updated through time to continue to work properly as we release updates.

You will need to make sure you do that for both the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro language files.

I highly recommend reading the 3 following articles on translation:

With that in mind, I believe a simpler approach is to use the following solution (read all the way to the end): https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/change-the-wording-of-any-bit-of-text-or-string/

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,

Hello and thank you for your reply.

My problem is that these strings are missing in poedit.

Attached you will find a example.

I am trying to translate the string: “Schedule multiple events”.

This string is not found in poedit (file: tribe-events-calendar-pro-nb_NO.po). I only found this string from a external searching tool.

Ho to add these missing strings?

Good evening Børge and thank you for writing back,

If this string is not found in your po file, it means that your PO file needs an update.

The solution is to update your translation files using the pot file. You can do this by using the Poedit software and heading to Catalog > Update from pot file.

Also, here’s are relatively recent files in your language that contain that string (in case that helps): updatedfile

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

    that fixed that problem, great.

Now only a few other things and then I am all good.

1.I just purchased the Community Events plugin. I am unable to change the text of the submit new entry button. Text looks ok, but the button is to small for the text – so I would like to change the text.

See attached image. Cant find that entry any place. Where can I change that?

    2. On the Event Calender page I cant translate a few strings, see attached foto. Do I need a new updated file for the the-events-calendar-nb_NO also? Or will I be able to translate this somewhere else?

    Good evening Børge,

I am stoked to hear this helped out!

As for your community events questions:

1.I just purchased the Community Events plugin. I am unable to change the text of the submit new entry button. Text looks ok, but the button is to small for the text – so I would like to change the text.

You could either make the text smaller or make the button bigger.

Both of which can be accomplished via CSS.
Could you send me the URL of your Community Events page (and perhaps a temporary front-user login) so that I can take a look ?

In order to gain full power on your site’s look and feel, I would highly recommend reading the following articles:

    2. On the Event Calender page I cant translate a few strings, see attached foto. Do I need a new updated file for the the-events-calendar-nb_NO also? Or will I be able to translate this somewhere else?

Each of our plugins has its own set of language files.

Community events’ can be found here /wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/lang/

    Have a good weekend,

    Geoff B.
