Category Page Title is Displaying the Event Title

Hello,

When there is an event in a category, the page title is a duplication of the event title. When there is no upcoming event in the category, it displays the category title properly.

Here is an example of an event in the “Launch Party” category: http://playground.fnfweb.com/treadwells/events/category/launch-party/

Notice that the page title is a duplication of the event name, “Interview with a Druid”.

Here is an example of an empty category:
http://playground.fnfweb.com/treadwells/events/category/lectures/

Also, how do I change the text that displays under that title? It doesn’t make sense.

I just installed the AddThis share plugin and it took away the text below the category title on pages that don’t have any events upcoming (that I just asked how to change). How can I bring it back? I need it to say that there are no events upcoming.

Hi Christina.

For the first issue, can you tell me what the following option is set to: Events > Settings > Template > Events Template … Thanks!

Regarding the second issue, we might be limited in how much support we can offer for what sounds like a conflict with another plugin – but please do create a new forum thread for that and we’ll help if we can 🙂 (it would just avoid confusion if we have to troubleshoot two separate problems in one thread).

OK, so there are a couple of ways we might approach this. The first is to try changing that setting to Default Events Template. If that doesn’t display nicely though then we’ll have to do a little template overriding.

In the first instance though can you try using Default Events Template?

Changing it to the events template still didn’t work. It’s believe it’s because I’ve added a bit of code to list.php:

Is there something I could use besides to specify the category, because it’s clearly picking up the title of the first event and using that…

I can hack it by specifying page numbers for each category, but would much rather use code that will make sure it’s taken care of when new categories are created.
