ParticipantThe upcoming events widget in the sidebar shows the next 5 upcoming events on the events calendar page, venue page, event page etc fine. But when I go to a event category page the upcoming events widget shows page not found. How do I fix this bug? Thanks.

ParticipantHi ellaearth,
Do you have an example I can take a look at? Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to rule out a conflict?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi ellaearth,
Ok, I’m not sure what else to check myself so I’ve escalated this for someone else to take a look. Please stay tuned and we’ll get you a resolution shortly.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi ellaearth, we’ve identified a bug here and this will be fixed in a future release. For now to get around this you should just need to enable List View in the Events Settings. I know this is not ideal because now it will enable list view, but it will at least get rid of the nasty error message. Can you try that and let me know if it works for you?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Jonah,
I appreciate the support you give. I tried list view and got no error messages. How long before the next release? I know you may not be able to give a definite answer but is it a couple of weeks, a couple of months? The monthly calendar view is necessary as they have a lot of events. Does the last version 2.?? work well for this? I’m just wondering if it is better for me to revert back and wait until all the bugs are ironed out with the new version 3. OR I’m thinking maybe not to show upcoming events on category pages. I’m still new to wordpress and genesis, (this may be out of support scope) but what’s the best way to create a unique sidebar for category pages? Then I don’t show upcoming events on the category pages until the next release.July 18, 2013 at 4:50 am #55840ellaearth
ParticipantOh and another thing, though I may have to put this into another discussion or have it as a suggested feature. But if you look at one of the venues, you will notice it has so many events that it increases page download times considerably. Currently it’s showing 35 events in list view (and they have more to add!). Is there anyway to add pagination to venue pages? Category pages are paginated with next and previous events which helps to limit the page size.

ParticipantHi ellaearth,
Let’s try to keep this thread more focused on the issue at hand. If you’d like the other issues answered, please create new threads. You can still have month view enabled, you just need to have List View enabled as well because if it’s not enabled, when you go to a category the bug is the plugin counts the list widget as list view, so if list view is not enabled, it displays the 404. This will be fixed soon in a future release, probably within the next week is my guess but I can’t say for sure.
Regards,
