GuestWe have about 10 departments. Each of those department are responsible for their category. Each category has their own page with a calendar. Is it possible to show only that category’s events on that one category page and on the main page show all 10 departments categories events?
Thanks

MemberHi Dion,
Thanks for reaching out and for your interest in our products as well 🙂
Not sure if I’m getting you right but you can link to a specific category like this: http://yoursite.com/events/category/category-slug/, that will show the calendar filtered by the given category. In the main calendar -http://yoursite.com/events/- all the event will be shown.
Please let me know if this answers your question,

GuestJust to extend this question can we have different events pages in different parts of the website where each one shows all the events in just one category. We would then have another main events page that shows all activities in all categories.
So not filtering one events page to show a single category – but different events pages for each category.
Thanks

MemberHey Vaughn,
Thanks for jumping in here! I’ll try to clarify this, but not sure what you mean by:
So not filtering one events page to show a single category – but different events pages for each category.
What would be the difference in each ‘different events page for each category’? Maybe you can elaborate a bit more in what you are looking to achieve here?
Thanks,

GuestThanks Nico
We are working with an organisation that 3 operations. Each of the organisations has a different section of one website.
Each one want their own calendar page. So for example
overallname.com/organisation1/events
overallname.com/organisation2/events
overallname.com/organisation3/eventsRather than
overallname.com/events/category/organsation1/
overallname.com/events/category/organsation2/
overallname.com/events/category/organsation3/Can Events Calendar (which we use widely with other clients) support that?
Cheers

MemberVaughn,
Thanks for clarifying this for me, I get you know!
No, unfortunately there are no settings in the plugin to achieve exactly that. I guess it’s not impossible but that will need some custom code to override the re-write rules and some testing to get it right. For example this snippet by Brian let’s you change the category slug:
https://gist.github.com/jesseeproductions/762f784476f555469d11
So you can have something like http://overallname.com/events/organsation/3/ without much coding effort. But again this solution requires some coding on your side and cannot be achieved via settings.
Please let me know if this answers your question,
