Category List Shortcode?

Hello,

I use your Venue/Organizer Shortcodes plugin with the shortcode [list_venues] to display a neat, bulleted list of Venues on a page, which dynamically changes when Venues are added or removed.

Is it possible to achieve the same result but with a bulleted list of Event Categories?

We will gladly answer your question on this topic.

Is it possible to achieve the same result but with a bulleted list of Event Categories?

The answer, out-of the box, is no. The only built-in shortcodes currently available are detailed here.

That being said, I am pretty sure you can accomplish this via a fairly straight forward customization.

And although we do not fully support customization, we absolutely try to get our customers started on the right track.

If you haven’t already, you might want to read our Themer’s guide to get a sense of how to go about this. It won’t provide you with a solution, but give you an idea of where to go look for the appropriate code.

After all, the events categories can be found in the wp_terms and wp_term_taxonomy tables just like post categories.
