After nearly a year of working beautifully, for the past couple of weeks our cart has been acting up. When members goes to register, no matter what quantity they enter, they get to the cart and are told that it’s empty.

You can find what I’m talking about at http://baipa.org/event/all-about-wordpress/ (It’s ironic that our WordPress site is melting down the month we have a WordPress developer talking with us!)

We’re updated to WooTickets 3.12.1, Events Calender 4.0.4, and Woocommerce 2.4.12. We’ve done all of the things we can think of and are thoroughly stumped.

Also — this is an unrelated issue (maybe), but we’d managed to get the cart box to display in the upper-right hand corner of the event page, so that the order form was available immediately available. The CSS all seems to be in place: you can see that the box still floats right. However, it’s back down at the bottom of the page. I vaguely remember a small hack to the Single Event template to move it up? Unfortunately, I can’t find any notes and the the old copies of the files got overwritten in the upgrades.

    Hey @Dkudler,

There’s indeed something pleasant about the irony of WordPress site issues in the month when you’ll be engaging in talks about WordPress sites, because irony is always pleasant, but the issue still sucks regardless – I’m sorry to hear about these problems!

The first thing that stands out to me is your use of WooCommerce Tickets itself – this plugin is now defunct, and instead we have an all new ticketing system that replaces this plugin (and other platform-specific ticketing plugins like EDD Tickets, Shopp Tickets, etc.).

The disparate and specific functionality of all these separate add-ons have all been rolled into one all-new pair of add-ons:

    • Event Tickets – http://wordpress.org/plugins/event-tickets
    • Event Tickets Plus – https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-event-tickets-plus/

Now, I understand this information might be disheartening at first glance, but don’t worry – the process for updating is quite simple. You basically just need to delete WooCommerce Tickets [which will not erase event or ticket data], and then install the free Event Tickets plugin. Then, install the premium Event Tickets Plus plugin, and see how things behave on your site.

Event Tickets Plus is a premium add-on, but since you are a WooCommerce Tickets license holder, you have free access to Event Tickets Plus 🙂

Learn more about the process of getting up-to-date here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-to-event-tickets-plus/

If issues persist, we can go from there, but updating to this most recent software is the first and most important step.

    Cheers!

    George,

Thanks so much. Yeah, it does suck — in this case for reasons that had nothing to do with Modern Tribe: our host got hacked. :-p

In any case, it’s working again — with the old version of the plugin. I should have known that there was a problem when the version number went DOWN!

I will say that it wasn’t clear to me at all that I needed to change the plug-in. I just renewed the license on the old version — can we transfer that to Events Tickets Pro?

The formatting issue also had to do with the hack — when our host provider was trying to move things around after the hack, someone apparently commented out the changes to the template. :-p

Thanks for the update David – I’m sorry to hear about the hack and about our lack of clarity in informing about the transition to Event Tickets Plus.

I just renewed the license on the old version — can we transfer that to Event Tickets Pro?

You should have your own license key for Event Tickets Plus specifically – do you see this license key in your account page here – http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/license-keys?
