Can't upgrade to 3.1 after I've restored a backup

The site is hosted with wp-engine, there is an open support ticket with them as well. I applied the update successfully a couple of days ago from 3.0.1 to 3.1. Everything as fine, the upgrade went as they always do. Several hours later, I needed to restore the site from backup. I pulled the image from the wp-engine archive from the last known good point, which was before the 3.1 upgrade was applied. Now, when I apply the update, the process fails, and Event Calendar is removed from the install.

Hi, joshua64. I’m sorry to hear that you’ve come up against this issue while trying to upgrade.

One thing I can suggest is trying to update by manually by downloading the plugin files from https://theeventscalendar.com/downloads/. Then, you’ll want to rename your existing plugin folder(s) so that you can install the plugin without running into errors overwriting them.

Hopefully, wp-engine support will come back with something for you, but feel free to give the manual upgrade it goes. Please let us know how it goes!
