Robin
ParticipantHi, I have an event listing that’s a series. The first part of the series has past. I was testing out some html code on the post, and now I’d like to remove that test code, and I can’t seem to do it. When I hit the “update” button, the wheel just spins and spins. When I reload teh page, the code I’ve “removed” is still there. What to do?
thanks

MemberHmm, when you say the event listing is part of a series, do you mean you have set it up as a recurring event? If so it sounds suspiciously close to a known issue (as summarized here by Rob).
Does that sound like the same problem you are facing?

MemberHey Robin! How are you getting on here? Do you need any further support or assistance?

ParticipantHey Barry,
I wasn’t sure at first if that was the issue, but it has happened again and yes, Rob’s summary describes the issue exactly.I have successfully changed the first and second occurrence of the recurring event, but the 3rd, which I mistakenly attempted to edit first, is in limbo mode, i.e., not updating. Do I delete the whole event and start over? Do I delete the *occurrence* and try to add it in again?
This is important in part because each occurrence of the event has to have some unique information, identifying it as a particular event (say, “week 3”) of a series.
I’d really appreciate your quick assistance here–clients are waiting! all best, Robin

MemberHi Robin,
So I chatted to fellow team members about this and by the sounds of it we’re going to have to wait until 3.0 is released for a solid fix here.
If you are confident in working with Javascript you could also try out the possible patch I posted earlier in the same thread I referenced previously (taking care to back up the original code first of all).
I’m sorry we can’t offer more on this occasion.

ParticipantI’m not confident with Javascript, and if it doesn’t allow me to make and save changes to recurring event occurrences anyway, I won’t be trying that option.
If I understand this correctly, if I want to add a bit of unique content, such as the words “Week 2” or “Week 3” etc., on an occurrence of a recurring event (in my case, a series of classes) it’s not currently possible without “breaking” the series, and I should just set up each event individually. Can you please confirm that for me?

MemberYes – that’s pretty much the current situation.
