MemberHey Rob,
Thank you for answering my questions.
I am thinking that perhaps there could be something we need to check at the server configuration level. For testing purposes, would you mind setting your PHP memory limit to at least 96MB per website ?
Also, as promised, I went ahead and ran your situation by our resident support wizard.
Here is what he had to say:
– Normally the plugins should totally work on Windows as long as you are running Apache.
– It would be helpful to see the specific error message, rather than just the generic “500” once. This should be located in the logs. Please turn on WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG. Also setup IIS to log things (if it isn’t already, it will by default). Then try regenerating the 500 error by updating. What does the PHP error log, IIS log, and WordPress log show around this time? Could he privately share them with us. The PHP error log and IIS one might be the same on his system, or they might be logged separately. He may need to consult his server admin to find the PHP error log.
– What is the full directory path to The Events calendar? It will be something like “C:/Sites/example.com/pub_html/…”.
– Did incremental backups yield any result ?
Have a good weekend,
Geoff B.

ParticipantI wanted to notify you that our very latest version , 4.4.0.x which was released yesterday, is having an issue specific to Windows and IIS. We are working to fix this ASAP. This particular issue is brand new.
Due to this new issue, I would hold off updating to the latest version for now. Or, you could update to TEC 4.3.5 which is immune to the new issue. But I would not update all the way to 4.4 just yet, that way you can avoid facing more problems.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers!
– Brook
