Participant1. http://jwcdaily.com/events/community/add Community Events page is blank, we have updated version of Community Events plugin.
2. We are not sure if Community events is registered because it shows the page as attached, we added the registration but we are still asked to enter it again.please check what is going on and why since this is commercial plugin.

MemberHey Adrienne,
Sorry for the trouble here — I see exactly what you mean that the Community Events submission page is completely blank.
The funny thing is that there is content on the page, but it is merely hidden. In fact, I noticed there is a CSS rule that is hiding everything:
.site-container { display: none; }Not sure why that’s happening, but it is likely some sort of conflict between the theme and plugin styling. Try adding this to your theme’s style.css file or using the Simple Custom CSS file and that should fix things up:
.tribe_community_edit .site-container { display: block; }Here’s a screenshot of what happens when I test that out.
2. We are not sure if Community events is registered because it shows the page as attached, we added the registration but we are still asked to enter it again.
Sorry, it looks like the attachment did not come through, but that’s okay. We’ve been having server issues since late last night and that has forced us to disable the mechanism that checks for active licenses in our system. It’s a temporary glitch that we are actively working on and everything should be back to normal once that get ironed out.

ParticipantGeoff:
My tech support says the page is not showing because it has an error and it’s not rendering anything.
“NetworkError: 500 Internal Server Error – http://jwcdaily.com/events/community/add” (Screen shot is below)I’m not sure if this background is important but: In early 2016, we integrated our first site (dailynorthshore.com) with multi-sites under http://www.jwcdaily.com. The tech guy i’m working with now installed the Modern Tribe Events Calendar Pro to our single site in 2014 but did not work on the multi-site integration in 2016. He says that “the team who was working on MultiSite integration simply added display none to the content for Community Events, because even when it’s working Community Events page is broken completely due to errors in Community Events content filtering causing JavaScript to break.”
I’m sharing that background in case it can help YOU help US figure this out!
Here’s a screen shot from today:

MemberHi Adrienne and thanks for following up! I appreciate the extra context.
Sounds like a lot things to untangle there!
First off, I’m glad to see that the CSS change worked and that the Community Events form is now displaying as it should. That’s great!
My tech support says the page is not showing because it has an error and it’s not rendering anything.
The good news is that the page is indeed rendering as of this morning. It was also rendering the page when I checked it out yesterday, which is why the CSS snippet is working as we speak.
Internal 500 Server Errors can happen for a number of reasons, though they are mostly server and hosting-related. For example, it could be that the amount of memory the host is allocating to PHP is simply not enough and needs to be increased. In other words, I would suggest reaching to the host to look into that specific error, if it’s still popping up.
He says that “the team who was working on MultiSite integration simply added display none to the content for Community Events, because even when it’s working Community Events page is broken completely due to errors in Community Events content filtering causing JavaScript to break.”
Nice, that was indeed the culprit for why the page was not showing anything!
On the flip side of that, a lot has changed since your team made that change in 2014 and Community Events has been updated numerous times since then. It’s very possible that whatever errors were seen in 2014 are now resolved and cleared up, but it is honestly really tough for me to either see any errors right now or confirmed which errors were seen back then and whether they still exist today.
It does appear that we have resolved the primary issue that was reported, which is the Community Events screen being blank.
My recommendation is to note any additional errors that you may experience now that the form is working and open a new thread to report report to us. And, if you do run into any issues, the first course of action I’d suggest is to follow the steps outlined in this guide — they will allow you to test for possible conflicts with the theme and other installed plugins and help isolate what those conflicts are if they exist.
Does that make sense and will it work for you? Please let me know.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff.
We are still experiencing starting issue, 500 error (staring issue was not in styles, page was not rendering at all).
We managed access it once after fixing the styles but it went down again and it’s down ever since. This server is VPS and it has more than enough memory to start with, issue is happening with Community Events and Community Events only (the rest of the site works normally.).
Is there any way we can debug this (from within the plugin)?
Only errors we can see are regular “Notice…” based errors (no fatal errors or anything alike). Issue persists even when we switch to default WordPress theme and there are no overrides in theme folder. We are using Genesis framework.
Please advice.
Thanks.
Dushan.

MemberHey Dushan,
This is a little concerning to me:
Issue persists even when we switch to default WordPress theme and there are no overrides in theme folder.
The reason being is that it still points to the likelihood that this is a server-related issue. I say that because not only have I been unable to replicate the issue on either our demo site ormy test site in the same default WordPress conditions, but because there are currently no other reports of this and I would imagine it affecting many people if it was an issue in the plugin itself.
That said, it might be worth installing the Query Monitor plugin and see if that reveals any telling notices that might be causing an overload or conflict.
We are still experiencing starting issue, 500 error (staring issue was not in styles, page was not rendering at all).
I thought the initial issue that was reported in this thread was what was written here:
1. http://jwcdaily.com/events/community/add Community Events page is blank, we have updated version of Community Events plugin.
Now that the page is no longer blank, is that part technically resolved even if the form is not taking submissions?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff.
Initial issue on our side was never style related. In fact it was always blank due to 500 error.
Community Events page was working shortly today, but it’s back to 500 error we started with.My biggest concern here is the fact that the issue is the same on my local Ubuntu server where I have 1024Mb assigned memory and i5 processor.
I do appreciate the fact that plugin works flawlessly on your demo site, in real environment you have more complex setup.
After installing Query plugin I see that site uses around 50Mb 76Mb on calendar page, and that only slow query belongs to Event Shortcode. And now the Add Event page is working again.
Attached is how add front end of Add Event page looks like when logged in, no head no footer, completely broken.
Thanks.

MemberHi Dushan,
Would you be willing to head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information at the bottom of the screen and post it here for me as a private reply? That will allow me to check a few things before we dig much deeper into this.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Geoff.
This is public place available to anyone and I can’t give you what is considered as sensitive server related info.
If you have private way of communicating this type of data ok, if not please don’t ask me to reveal something that can be used by hackers.Thanks.
Dushan.

MemberHi Dushan,
Just reiterate my request:
Would you be willing to head to Events > Settings > Help, copy the system information at the bottom of the screen and post it here for me as a private reply?
Note that I asked you to share the info as a private reply here in the thread. There is an option to do that when posting a reply. I would never request sensitive information in a public format.
Thanks,

MemberThanks Dushan! I did indeed get the information and it is helpful.
I’m not seeing any red flags right off the bat, but just to be absolutely sure and rule everything obvious out, I want to do a little more testing to see if the 500 error is happening because of conflicts with anything else that’s installed.
The next thing I would like to try here is creating a fresh test site — this will avoid any disruption to your live site and ensure that we’ve effectively got a “clean canvas” to work with.
- Please install a fresh copy of WordPress in a subdirectory (if you have a CPanel-type hosting account there will probably be a one-click install script to make this really easy)
- Don’t install anything except The Events Calendar and Community Events. I see you have other third-party plugins related to The Events Calendar, but let’s leave those out for now.
- Please also stick to a default theme — again, there’s no need to install anything else just yet!
- Can you replicate the same problem?
If you find you can replicate the problem under these conditions it would be awesome if you could stop, let me know and share a link so I can take a look while the site is still running under default conditions.
Thanks for your help!

ParticipantHi Geoff.
Events calendar is commercial plugin, how can we test it in dev environment? Is there any dev based/temp/trial license we could use while debugging?
Problem is that we can’t do the testing on http://jwcdaily.com server because it’s live and it has a blog network (MultiSite), we would like to avoid creating any new instances on this server. Please let us know.
Thanks.
