Trying to remove about 80 events attached to about 60 different organizers all at once and for some reason I can’t seem to get the events list to sort properly on the organizer name. Clicking on the “Organizer” title of the table. It’s changing the order, but not in the correct order – seems random. Am I doing something wrong?

Also – Moving an organizer to the trash changes the title to “unnamed”. Restoring it doesn’t fix the title, but the slug remains the same… ???

    Great question, Patti! 🙂

The easiest way to handle the situation you’re describing is by adding a Filter in the Event List and selecting the Organizer from the drop down menu. Here’s an example of what it would look like: http://d.pr/i/tN2Y

Does that make sense? Will it work for you?

Your solution works, but would only give me one organizer at a time. I would have to do it 60 times in order to get all the events I need to delete. Just as easy to go through the list and compare it to the list of 60 names I have to remove and check the box if it’s on the list.

I thought it would be quicker, more *efficient*, be able to do a bulk removal on by sorting on organizer, then selecting multiple events (check box), and then delete.

Just out of curiosity – if the organizer column isn’t sorting on the organizer name, what is it sorting on?

BTW – would you like me to submit another ticket regarding the strangeness happening when trashing an organizer?

Kelly, apologies – I thought you worked here.

No problem, Patti! 🙂 I am, in fact, part of the Modern Tribe support team. You definitely got that right.

You’re also right about the column sorting. It looks like this may be a bug that slipped through the cracks in the latest release. (Apparently, our first report of it was on Tuesday.)  I apologize for the inconvenience. We’ll look into figuring out what happened there, but in the mean time, I’m afraid that filtering on organizer is going to be the best we can offer.

And, while we’re on the subject of known bugs, the issue with the Organizer name not returning properly when restored from the Trash is also one we’ve had reports of. It also affects venues in the same way. We’re working on a fix, but it won’t be available until it’s included in a release of the plugin.

Sorry I don’t have better news for you! Is there anything else I can do to help?

Where is the list of “known bugs”? I keep clicking on the Technical Documentation link over there –> (right column of this page) and I’m getting a 404 page. Sort of thought it might be there.

I’m asking about all the bugs because the site this is supposed to be working needs to be ready for launch by the end of March. Between March & early September, the site will be VERY busy and there will not be a “good” time to do any kind of updates that might disrupt the 200 some odd events and recurring events that will be on the calendar. This organization’s entire season in a large part relies on this calendar, can’t afford downtime or problems.

I need to look over that list and decide if there are too many bugs in this version to comfortably use it and we need to revert back to a lower version, or use something else all together.

Hi, Patti. First, it’s strange to me that you say you get a 404 when viewing our Technical Documentation. That link resolves for me, so I’m not sure why it wouldn’t work for you.

On the other hand, getting to that page wouldn’t actually be the solution you’re looking for. 🙁 We did have a bug tracking page for a while, but it wasn’t getting any traffic. As far as we could tell, the community didn’t really see the value in it, so we abandoned it, because it was a fair bit of extra maintenance for us.

At the moment, the only real way for you to check about extent bugs is to look through the forum threads and see if an issue has already been reported and to keep an eye on the changelog/release notes post from release to release. If there is a specific bug that’s of concern to you, please feel free to check in with us as to the status. We’re always eager to answer questions about them. Unless you see something where we specifically purport to fix a bug, you should assume it still exists in the system.

All that said, we are now coming up on the fourth maintenance/bug-fixing release of this current version’s lifecycle. Aside from a few theme-specific issues where we’re still trying to work out the kinks, we believe it’s ready to go. It really is our most stable release yet!

We really hate to disappoint you here, but at the moment, we don’t have a better way for users to see outstanding bugs right now. Let me reiterate that if there are ones you’re curious about, please ask us, and we’ll totally do our best to get you updates on the status.

    Hope that helps!

The link to Technical Documentation does not work when I click on it on this page. I swear to you, I’m not crazy. 😉 Scroll up from here, click on the link see if you get the 404 page – or maybe it’s not a 404 page, maybe it’s another type, but either way it is not the Tech Docs. It says, “Zoinks! Sorry buddy, this page is off limits.”

I can’t really know what bug to be concerned about if I don’t know what bugs exist. I wish I had enough time to sort through the 5380 posts about ECP looking for current bugs, see if they apply to what we want to do and then check to see if they were fixed. Right now I’m thinking the safest thing to do, and to expedite this job is to use the version we used last year, the one prior to “the big upgrade”. Unless you can tell me it’s safe enough to move forward with this version?

We have been using ECP Pro for three years now, I’ve always renewed, and have always been happy with it, but this is disappointing. We were really hoping to take advantage of some of the new things that were in this version.

I think the broken tech docs link thing is because I got here via a link in email that leads to this page w/ SSL – the Tech Docs link doesn’t work under SSL.

Technically not “resolved”, but no reason to keep it open.

Hi, Patti. I just wanted to follow-up with you one more time before closing this thread out completely.

I feel really bad that we don’t have a great solution for you when it comes to communicating existing bugs that we’re working on resolving. As a long-time customer, we truly value your feedback, and I personally apologize that we can’t offer more. If there is a plugin- or theme-specific integration you’re working on or a bug you have a question about, absolutely let us know, and we’ll do our best to get you an answer that makes sense and helps.

That said, as a token of our appreciation, when your license comes up for renewal, if you still have faith in us and our plugin, email leah ([email protected]) referencing this thread, and we’ll get you a coupon for a free renewal. We hope to have you as part of the community for a long while to come!

    Hi there,

Thanks for reporting this issue. We were not able to get a fix into our forthcoming 3.4 release. However, this issue is still definitely a priority for us and we plan to work on it for an upcoming release. We will update this thread at that time. Thank you for your patience.

    Best,
    Leah

Hi! We’ve now completed some work that ought to address this issue (with “unnamed” organizers) in our very next upcoming release. Thanks for your patience (and if you do hit any further problems with this please don’t hesitate to let us know in a new thread) – thanks!
