ParticipantOnly when editing recurring events, nothing happens when I click on Update. The small gray wheel spins endlessly and nothing happens, no grayed out box, no dialog box. And the URL progress bar (Safari) is not trying to do anything or reach the server, nothing. Even when it’s an event repeating only 3x. Not happening with non-recurring events, or creating new events (even if recurring). Only when editing a recurring one.
I thought it could be related to what others were experiencing, so I tried implementing the Z-index php solution to no avail.
Any idea of what else I can try? Or when the fix will be available? This feature is a make/break option for us, unfortunately.
Thanks,
MariaP.S.: I had the free plugin for a couple of days and everything ran fine. Upgraded to Pro (without changes to any existing plugins or adding any other after), and this is the only issue I’m running into. Given I have several plugins, no, I haven’t tried deactivating other plugins or reverting. And no, I haven’t upgraded WP either since I upgraded to Pro.

MemberHi Maria,
What happens if you deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default, unmodified theme? Does that resolve this problem (even if it means you run into the greyed out dialog issue you referred to)?
I’m not sure from your final comment if doing that sort of troubleshooting is not possible in your case or if you simply haven’t had an opportunity – but since we haven’t seen many other reports along these lines it does suggest a conflict may be at work.
Thanks!

ParticipantBarry,
thanks for your response. I guess my original comment was that I was avoiding deactivating the plugins. I have now recreated the site (on same server) as bare bones from scratch, adding plugins one by one, and I haven’t been able to recreate the error so far. I do get the gray screen, however, which probably points to a theme conflict.
I am working on recreating (or fixing) the error on this new dev site using the custom theme I need (I was able to add the fix to the 2013 WP theme and it works, but I need to use the custom theme I have, Juno).
I have tried adding the fix php code to the theme main functions.php, like below, but it doesn’t fix the gray screen:

I am using a child theme with only a css file in the child theme folder. Do I need to place the fix php in the child theme folder?
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

ParticipantAnd just to clarify: all these troubleshooting steps I mention above are on a new dev site. The actual site (also on dev mode, and with a lot of front-end customization via WP admin to the Juno theme and plugins, pages content, events content etc.) is still not doing anything when I try to update a recurring event (no gray box and no popup box).

ParticipantUpdate: Still can’t recreate the “nothing happening” error on the plain site, even with all same plugins and child theme of Juno. I was able to clear the gray box error. The difference now is the actual content and customization of plugins, content, posts, media galleries, events, etc, on front end. Would something there be the cause? X[

MemberIt’s possible that some or other setting is at the root of this. If that’s the only thing that isn’t identical then it may be worth exporting the database from the production site to your development site.
Regarding this fix – I’m not sure why that isn’t working for you, but if you are using a child theme then it’s probably appropriate to place it in the functions.php file for that child theme, creating one if it doesn’t already exist.
Does that help?

ParticipantThanks, Barry. I will keep comparing the files on the backend first (to see if I missed any that might not be the same), before I resort to exporting the db. I am not a programmer, so I’m going slow to make sure I don’t confuse myself. Really thought the calendar PRO would be a good solution for me, and it seems it’s set me back. Thanks for your help. Will report back soon.

MemberDefinitely – and I’m sorry that it integration has been so problematic in this case.
The fact that it’s working perfectly (bar the bug with the recurring event dialog being greyed out, of course) on your dev server does suggest something peculiar is in place on your live site – hopefully you can zero in on that and determine if it’s due to perhaps a setting in the database or indeed some discrepancy between plugins.
