ParticipantWhen I click on the menu item to access the calendar page I get this message:

MemberHi Karen!
Let’s see if we can get this sorted out!
There are two thoughts that immediately come to mind that you can try out:
- Definitely check in with your hosting provider. This very well could be a server issue you’re running into.
- Do you have any caching plugins installed? If so, try clearing your cache to see if that resolves the issue.
Please let me know if either of those solves the problem you’re running into. 🙂
Have a great day!

ParticipantI checked with GoDaddy thinking I had to add memory and I couldn’t find the code line the error directed me to. They gave me a link for ini files that I don’t understand at all. (php initialization file)
I don’t have any caching plugin – that I know of.
The Events Calendar Pro plugin has been working fine for 2 years. Could it have something to do with a recent update?
Thanks for assistance. This is a very busy time of year and we need the calendar! K

MemberHi Karen!
It sounds like you might require a more powerful server. Or, often times web hosts (in this case, GoDaddy) will allow you to increase the memory limit on your current server using that php.ini file.
Here are some helpful links regarding this:
- Here’s is how to upgrade WordPress’ memory limit, right from the WP Codex.
- Here is the PHP reference for modifying your php.ini memory limit. Sometimes this is necessary as well. Not all hosting plans allow you to edit the php.ini file, so you would need to consult with GoDaddy on how to do it and if you need to switch plans. You might even ask them what the maximum allowed memory is for the current plan, and make sure you are already there with your settings.
Keep in mind that WordPress is a powerful application, and our Calendar only adds to that power. Often times the cheapest hosts out there simply will not accommodate these, especially once you start having a lot of posts or events.
Does this help point you in the right direction? Let me know either way! I want to make sure you’re all set.
Have a great night!

ParticipantJeff,
This is an old website. It’s working on PHP version 5.2. Is there any possible conflict with changing to version 5.4?
Having GoDaddy upgrade the php memory limit to 512, max input variables to 3,000 and max executions to 300.
Hopefully that, along with updating to 5.4 which I can do, resolves the issue.
Thanks, K

MemberHi Karen
Sounds great! Thank you for following up.
You should be ok with our software moving to 5.4. It really sounds like either the memory limit or perhaps there may be another plugin conflicting somehow. Please keep me in the loop as you make progress. Just a heads up, our threads automatically close out after a few weeks of inactivity, but if that happens, feel free to open up a new thread and we’ll be happy to continue the conversation with you.
Have an excellent day!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
