Can The Events Calendar do this?

My client wants to have a membership side of their website that creates a place for their users to maintain their personal calendars of what events they’re interested in. They want to allow the site users to “schedule” themselves for events. They don’t want a registration process. They just want the site to send an email to remind the site user of the events.

Is this something that can be done with The Events Calendar?

That is not something that is currently possible with The Events Calendar. However we are planning to add a feature that is quite similar if not identical to this. It will allow users to subscribe to events, and for the admins to send out email blasts. There will be a lot of functionality centered around email and staying in touch with users, and it will likely be out before the end of the year.
