ParticipantI’m using events calendar pro to keep our parish schedule organized. We have approximately 20 rooms, which we use in combination with each other. I have set up our event categories as room names, so if you need any three rooms, all you need to do is check the box for each room. (for obvious reasons I did not want to group every possible combination of rooms and add then in the venue area – this would be counter intuitive to use)
What I am seeking is an identifier for room conflicts. With 20 rooms, our office staff is finding this to be their #1 challenge. Is there any way to perhaps gray out the categories if they are already in use during that time period, or perhaps display an error message when they are used twice during the same time?
I’ve checked around for other plugins to help manage this, but I don’t need ticket sales, online booking, etc. We’re more of a conference facility than a hospitality.
Creative responses welcomed and encouraged!

KeymasterHi Brittany,
Thanks for reaching out to us.
I will start off by saying that’s a complex setup you have there, for sure, and that I cannot provide you with a solution. But I will, as you said it yourself, be creative with what I would have done to solve your issue.
On my mind I would remove the default WordPress Category and then create my own metabox with the checkboxes having some sort of AJAX request to test if there any other events at that same date and time. With that you would be able to display an error if 2 events are been held at the same place at the same time.
A class Reference that will allow you to start your development: https://github.com/WebDevStudios/Taxonomy_Single_Term
You can also be simpler and check for that when you are trying to save the post and throw an error that won’t allow the user to save it.
I mean, as I said it’s not a simple task to have this kind of check. Sorry if I wasn’t able to help you much here.
my Best Regards,
