ParticipantBy default, we get the list, calendar, and day view, and we can get photo, map, and week view as well. How hard is it to make a view? Can I create another one if I wanted to? For example, if I wanted to copy the files from List and then tweak them and give them a different name, would I be able to add that to my list of choices?
Thanks,

ParticipantHey Brendan,
Making custom views is indeed possible. However, it’s a quite-involved thing to do, so I would recommend against it unless you are very familiar with writing custom code and such in general.
I mention this because we unfortunately cannot answer questions related to how to implement such a customization, nor can we offer support for issues that arise along the way with the customization–check out the “Product Support” section of this page for more information: http://theeventscalendar.com/terms.
It’s an esoteric enough customization that we don’t even have much documentation about it, although there are two key pieces of documentation that should be quite helpful.
First is the “Adding views” section of the following article: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/understanding-the-tribe-events-bar/.
Next is our “Themer’s Guide”, which by now you’ve probably already seen before, but here it is just in case: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/.
It’s a tricky customization to pull off, but if you want to make custom views, I would recommend reading and studying the code of Events Calendar Pro; this premium add-on itself “adds views” to the core views provided by The Events Calendar, so you can take much of the code in it and reshape it to your needs.
There is not a simple file I can point to that has all of the relevant code; you’ll have to do some digging and tinkering because the code is spread throughout Events Calendar Pro in an number of places. But if you try and back-engineer how the Map View and Photo View are added, for example, you should be able to put something together on your own that’s quite handy 🙂
Best of luck with your customizations!
