Can I Integrate Post Categories with Event Categories?

The main slider on our front page uses the post category to choose which posts will show up in the slider. Event categories aren’t an option. I can’t access them as I would a normal post. Is there some way I could add the normal post category into an event i.e. upcoming events maybe as an additional field, so it could be ‘found’ by my slider?

Thanks for using our plugins. I can try to help out here.

I am not 100% certain this will work, but it did add the Categories on my test site to Events.

Since Events are a custom post type I am not sure the slider will find them, that is beyond the support we can provide to modify it though.

The event custom post type is registered as tribe_event

Let me know how that works out.
