Can I add the month to the date?

Hi there very helpful support peeps 🙂
I have a requirement to list all upcoming events that will be occurring over a whole year for a list of events that may only total about 5 or 6 in that upcoming year. Obviously using the mini calendar for example will only show events in a single month, however for this listing there will be alot of months without any data… so I want to be able to show a list of events over the course of a whole year.
Question is – can I do that AND if I can (which I think I can!) – then can I also show the month in the nicely displayed and neatly css’d date bit that currently just shows day name and number…

I have this guide from Geoff that shows how to change the Day Name to the Month Name in the Event List Widget:
