Can I achieve this with Venues & Shortcodes?

Hello,

I’m wondering if I can do the following:

Example scenario: manage program schedules for many day care centers (all month view).

Originally I thought I would create a category for each daycare as I know with Pro, I can use shortcode to display individual calendars. (The plan is to embed month view calendars each on their own page).

Now I’m wondering if it makes more sense to make use of the Venues feature for each location? If I create each day care as a venue instead of a category, can I still display a month view for that venue via shortcode? That would free up one level of categories. Is this the best approach?

Instead of something like the following for categories:
Day cares
– Location 1
–Location 1 category a
–Location 1 category b
-Location 2…

it would be:
Day cares
using shortcode to show a view of venue 1 with
category a
category b etc.

But does doing it that way make the “main calendar” view more complicated to navigate? I guess that depends on how the “Venues” option is presented in the UI.

Hopefully someone can follow my train of thought 🙂

I *think* the answer is yes, after playing with the Demo. The real unanswered question is if I can use the shortcode to specify month view + venue.

This page that talks about doing the “multiple calendar” setup I want doesn’t use venues as an example, so I just want to be 100% sure before I purchase / start working on this.
