MemberHi Jeff
You absolutely can do this. To learn more about our RSS feed option, see https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/events-rss-feed/.
Also, you can do some customization work on the RSS feed as needed. This exceeds our support services, but if you wanted to check it out: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/customize-rss-feed/.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks,
Courtney 🙂March 31, 2017 at 8:24 am #1262600Jeff
GuestHi Courtney
Many thanks for your reply.
I have skimmed the help file and can’t see how this makes sense:
————————————–
Event A: Has a publish date of January 1 and a start date of January 10
Event B: Has a publish date of January 2 and a start date of January 9
If these events were in the default WordPress RSS feed, Event B would appear before Event A in the feed, even though Event A is the has the latest start date. The Events Calendar RSS bases the order on the event start date instead, since that is how we traditionally think about a calendar.———————————————————–
I cannot see anything wrong with Event B appearing before Event A – surely that is what you want?Anyhow, with regard to your RSS feed, can you explain better please how it works? I would want it to go through Zapier to Twitter/Facebook every day automatically. The help file says that it takes the first 10 events from “today”. So if there is an event which is tomorrow, when tomorrow comes does that become “today’s” event? in other words, potentially an event can be fed up to 10 times?
Also what happens if there are more than 10 events in one day?
And just to be clear, this triggers automatically at a set time each day, and can that time be configured?
Many thanks and sorry for all the questions

MemberHi Jeff
If any type of a post has been published, regular post, or our custom post type “event”, it will only appear once in the RSS feed.
You can play around with our demo site’s (WP Shindig) RSS feed (http://wpshindig.com/events/feed/) by adding it to this RSS widget tool: https://feed.mikle.com/.
The number of events showing in the RSS feed are a result of how you configure your WP settings at Settings » Reading » Syndication feeds show the most recent #. You can increase the amount of RSS feeds that display, no matter the day, by increasing the WP settings. However, you might find Zapier or IFTTT have their own limits on how many feeds they will fetch.
The trigger of the sharing would be dependent upon both the time you schedule your event posts to go live, and what time the 3rd party system fetches the RSS feed. That also should clarify how Event B/A scheduling works.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks,
Courtney 🙂April 25, 2017 at 9:35 am #1274133Support Droid
KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. Thanks so much!
