Can caching be used of the page with the tickets when scanning QRcodes?

To increase performance I want to use a cache plugin, but will my client then still be able to scan a lot of QR-codes of attendees?

Most caching plugins allow you to ignore urls… just put the scanning url into the exceptions of your cache plugin.

Yes, but what url to add? Most of the time I use WP Fastest Cache which can exclude a page from the cache by checking an option on the individual page. But each QRcode has its own url.

Thanks for reaching out with your question.

The QR code will take you to a URL like this:

http://yourdomain.com?event_qr_code=1&ticket_id=86&event_id=12

This will then redirect you to the backend, to the attendee list of that event. Since the backend is usually not cached you shouldn’t have a problem with scanning a lot of tickets and caching.

Hi Jack,

Yes, it should be fine like that.

Although I couldn’t find it in their documentation, the admin dashboard of WordPress is usually not cached at all. Otherwise you would have trouble doing anything there.
