Call featured event on page

Hello –

I want to call a specific event in an area on the homepage. The instructions state:

” you simply head to the event that you want to embed elsewhere; copy its permalink URL; and then paste this URL into the content of the post or page inside of which you want the event to be inserted.”

I am not sure what this means.

Do I simply copy and insert URL as described: “http://www.eventscalendar.com/event1/ ? That doesnt make sense to me or work. Do I use a tag? what do I surround the url in to call it to the page or post.

I think I am missing something in the translation. Thanks!

Thanks Courtney. It seems to work in WordPress content editor. I am trying to add it to a layer using the Layer Slider application. And the layer slider textual area is capable of handling shortcodes. But it doesn’t output the event from the link.

Thanks Matt. Unfortunately, I’m not sure I have a good solution for that. Could the slider handle an image that links to the featured event? It’d mean recreating the image with a different linked event each time.
