MemberHi Wendy.
You shouldn’t be editing the plugin’s core files because then your modifications will be lost on each plugin update.
If you’re just wanting to make small modifications like a widget color, you can add custom CSS code via your child theme’s style.css file or via a plugin like Simple Custom CSS or, my favorite, Jetpack. Jetpack supports regular CSS and the LESS and Sass pre-processors.
For more in-depth modifications (including PHP), you could refer to our Themer’s Guide.
Also, feel free to reference this help article: Styling Events Widgets
Please let me know how it goes for you.

ParticipantYes, what I want is to go back to the original settings of the plugin, but it does not change.

MemberWendy, to make sure you have all the correct plugin files, I’d suggest deleting all the Modern Tribe plugins you think you may have edited.
Then re-download them from https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/ and https://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads/
This way there won’t be any confusion if you’ve accidentally changed one of our files that you shouldn’t have. You’ll have a fresh copy of the plugins installed.
Note: if you were asking about putting all the wp-admin > Events > Settings back to their defaults (as if upon initial installation to a new site), there’s no “reset” button, but the Settings shouldn’t be causing any issues for your setup.
Please let me know if I can help in any way.

ParticipantWill this erase all the events we have posted?
November 10, 2015 at 11:34 am #1023878Cliff
MemberDefinitely not. Just replacing the folders/files on the server (not messing with the database) won’t affect any event data.

Participantwith the 4.0 release I should be able to change the color with the color picker, but I don’t see that option in the plug in, can you please help

MemberSure, Wendy. Did you update to v4.0 of both The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO yet?
If yes, please check out https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-color-customizer/
Then let me know if you have any follow-up questions.
Thanks.

MemberIt appears your site is using Avada theme. I’d suggest asking Avada support about that. Please let me know what they reply.

ParticipantI ask avada support and everything is fine with the theme, I uninstall and re install the events calendar plugin, and the colors are the same, they don’t change

MemberSorry you didn’t get the answer from them I expected you would. I don’t want your time wasted at all.
I visited http://cst.edu/ and it seems your calendar widget coloring is pretty well customized to your site. Did you figure it out or do you still need my assistance?
If you do need my assistance, please tell me exactly what you want changed and what you want it changed to.
Thank you.
