Calendar view – display month with next event not current month

Hi there,
The events I have don’t kick off till July of this year. My client has requested the use of calendar view. In its current state customers will need to click next month a few times till they see events.
How do I setup the calendar to display the month of the next month as opposed to current month?

Hi Peter
I’m just throwing this simple suggestion out there as a possible way to get around this, as I had the same issue some time ago.
I simply navigated to the month I wanted and copied the url/permalink and created a link to the specific month/page I wanted. I also made a link called “Events Calendar” using the link feature in Appearance > Menus and added it to my main menu. Anyway, that worked for me.

Phil’s suggestion is a great one – there’s no other built in means of doing this (though as ever we welcome any feature requests you might post).

If you are at home doing some custom development work you might look at this tutorial and see if it gives you some ideas/code you can repurpose: I would say immediately though it is in need of an update and also relates to the calendar widget rather than month view itself – but a number of the ideas it implements could certainly be abstracted out and reused.
