ParticipantI followed the instructions here: https://tri.be/faqs/the-calendar-page-title-shows-title-of-an-event/ and also tried changing my permalinks as described here: https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/page-title-shows-upcoming-event-name/. My calendar is still showing “Kripalu Flow Yoga” as the title – and it should be “Health Club Schedule” (what I put in header.php per the instructions in the FAQ above). Yes, I am using the default page template. Am I missing something?

ParticipantHey blizzdesign,
Can you please share the link to your calendar page and your header.php and theme’s page.php templates? You can post copies of the templates to http://snippi.com/
Thanks,

ParticipantHi blizzdesign, looks like you might have figured this out? http://cl.ly/image/3d0x2v2b2F0S – the title is showing properly for me. Are you seeing something different?

ParticipantHi Jonah. Thanks, but no, we didn’t. Your screenshot doesn’t show the browser tab – that’s what I need changed. I am talking about the – not the page title/h1 tag.

ParticipantI am talking about the title tag in the head section of the html – http://snippi.com/s/hn18uts

ParticipantHi blizzdesign,
I see what you’re talking about now. Hmmm, that’s strange. The header.php code works fine for me in the Twenty Twelve theme. Can you try deactivating all other plugins? Perhaps there’s a plugins that’s interfering here.

ParticipantYup, seems to be All in One SEO Pack. Do you have any tips for getting around that? If not, I guess I will try WordPress SEO by Yoast and see what happens.

ParticipantHi blizzdesign,
Unfortunately no, I don’t. Try WordPress SEO and see if that works. I think that’s a better plugin anyway. And, I wrote this snippet that should help you customize the titles without having to hack your header.php – https://gist.github.com/jo-snips/3710617
I hope that helps!

ParticipantWell, I switched plugins…and the same thing happened WordPress SEO installed. However, your snippet seemed to do the trick. I’m not sure I understand how it’s not “hacking my header”, but if it works, that’s what matters! Thank you!

ParticipantHi blizzdesign,
It’s always better to use filters and action hooks when possible and if they’re available for a plugin. Modifying the header.php file like you did should have worked but there must have been something the AISEO plugin was doing to prevent your changes from working. Like you say, if it works that’s mainly what matters 😉
Let us know if you need help with anything else!
