Calendar Speed

Hi,

I’m having some issues with the speed of the month view of the calendar. This takes on average 12 seconds to load, other parts of the site are around 1 – 2 seconds.

I have tried disabling all the plugins and reverting to the initial theme.

I have also enabled the “Enable the Month View Cache” option but this made no difference.

I have 2,892 events, quite a lot of these are recurring.

I have the Query Monitor plugin running but can’t see any issues with slow queries.

Is there any advice to speed this up?

P.S I have also looked through the forums for additional info. I have also played with wp super cache but it’s not much faster.

2,892 events is a considerable amount of events, specially if they are recurring events. We have a great article that will get you started on Performance Considerations you should know about. Finally, there’s also a good article George put up here that groups a set of developer plugins. It’s a bit more technical than the others but will definitely be of help if you are into development.
