    Hello,

I am building a website and the client has asked about loading the entire events calendar on the homepage.

I have read previous threads and topics saying that the plugin does not support this out of the box. I am wondering if someone can let me know if this is a decision based on usability or functionality etc?

My concern is that even if I get the calendar to load on the homepage that it could really slow down the load speed of the website (pulling in hundreds of events) and possibly mess up the permalinks or other functionality in the calendar. Are these valid concerns?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey @Simoncarr,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The main hindrance to having the calendar load on the home page thus far has been neither a concern of performance nor of SEO/redirect/etc. issues. It has really mainly just been a technical limitation of our plugins based on how they work.

In the next version of The Events Calendar, version 4.3, there will be full support for embedding complete calendar views anywhere you want—even on the homepage. And that would be fine—no permalinks issues, etc.

Until that release happens (which should be some time in the next two to four weeks, if all goes to plan), then the only way to approximate the functionality of a homepage calendar is to use the methods in this knowledgebase article → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/how-to-make-your-calendar-your-sites-home-page/

    I hope this information helps!

    Cheers,
    George

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
