ParticipantI want to use the calendar on http://www.electricgap.com/events on the Home Page. I’ve been unsuccessful in trying to do this, as the calendar currently on the Home Page comes out in a different view than the one on the events page. It doesn’t even have the same functionality. No filters, search, nothing. I should note that I would like it in the week view as it appears on the events page.
How can I achieve this? All help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ParticipantHey @Charles,
You unfortunately cannot put the calendar on the home page at this time π
The closest you could get is to set up a redirect so that if folks go to electricgap.com it immediately redirects them to electricgap.com/events
I’m sorry to disappoint β please let me know if there’s anything more I can help with here!
Cheers,

ParticipantIs there any other view that can come close to what I’m looking for? Why is this not possible? Can I not just use the same week.php file?

ParticipantHey @charles,
Unfortunately it’s not quite possible because of the way the Events Calendar “calendar” features work.
The core of that problem is because /events/ is not really a “page”. It’s just an endpoint, much like a feed would be, which is much more dynamic and allows the basic calendar functionality of paginating forward or backward into new or past months, weeks, years, days, et cetera.
Trying to manipulate calendar URLs from the base URL of a site, or as a child URL off of a “real” page or post or something, would nullify much of this functionality due to the way The Events Calendar is currently built. I highlight this last sentence because we may be able to change this in the future, the near future even like sometime in the next year or two; but for now this is unfortunately not possible in the way you describe π
I’m sorry to disappoint @Charles, honestly. Please let me know what other thoughts you have on all of this, and/or if I can help with anything else!
Sincerely,
GeorgeDecember 11, 2015 at 9:15 am #1039692Charles
ParticipantIs it then possible to have the search features (as displayed on electricgap.com/events) and put it on the Home Page?

ParticipantHey @charles,
This is unfortunately also not possible without some extensive code customization π
I’m really sorry to disappoint!
