I installed the latest version of the Events Calendar and since then have had issues with loading the calendar. If I am viewing the month of September and then click the link to view October, it looks like it is loading, but it never loads. I’m not sure what to do to fix this.

    Thanks

    Rebekah

Hi, Rebekah. I definitely see the behavior you’re describing, basically a redirect loop.

It looks like there might be something going on where many of your site’s pages (including The Events Calendar) are referencing a different URL that has a hyphen (“-“) in it. I’d guess that if you got to the bottom of that, the issues with TEC would clear up, too.

Let me know how it goes!

Thanks for the response Kelly. Actually, the URL http://www.my-broadsheet.com, http://www.mybroadsheet.com is a redirect we have setup.

When I go to the Events Calendar Settings page, the Events URL slug does say: The slug used for building the events URL.Your current events URL is: http://www.my-broadsheet.com/events/

Is there some other setting that I should change?

Hi, Rebekah. That sounds like it’s probably the root of your issue.

Every time you tell the site to navigate to the hyphenated URL, it’s redirecting to the concatenated one, resulting in an endless loop. My guess is that once you standardize on which to use, the issue will resolve itself.

Let us know how it works!

    Kelly,

I agree. The problem didn’t start until after I upgraded to the new version of the Events Calendar. Is there a setting that I should change so that the calendar knows to pull the hyphenated URL? It wasn’t a problem previously, so I’m wondering how to do the fix on the new version.

Hi, Rebekah. I hear what you’re saying, but I think that may be coincidental.

For instance, when I click on the link above (http://www.my-broadsheet.com/events/), here’s what I see in Chrome: http://d.pr/i/Ep63.

Then, I tried just going to http://www.my-broadsheet.com/, and I got the same thing. I’m guessing if you used relative paths for your links, this would all go away. The problem seems to be the mixing of the URLs in the absolute paths and the redirect.

Would it be possible for you to try this fix to see what happens?
