Calendar is very slow.

The calendar is slow but still usable. However, if you try to move to another month it usually times out. We have completely updated the site and even moved it to a new server but that has not solved our issue. Is there anything you can recommend?

Hi @a1goodlifecal,

I’m sorry to hear you’ve been hitting up against performance issues.

One of the first things I would normally recommend – month view caching – already seems to have been enabled (via Events → Settings → Display) so that’s great and has hopefully helped at least a little.

I wonder, how many events do you have in total? If you visit the admin events list you should see some figures at the top of the screen like this:

All (1,908) | Published (1,671) | Draft (3) ...

What do you see there?

Can you also tell me about the new server – is this a “pre-rolled” hosting package and can you give me some more details about the provider and what they offer, or if it is a VPS can you provide me with some more information on the specification?

Last but not least, have you tried using a caching plugin to help mitigate the problem?
