GuestHello.
I have a pre-sales question:
We are looking for a calendar that can be set “per user”. The Admin creates the Calendar on the back end and then chooses which user can view it. The Admin does this multiple times, one Calendar for each user.
Can any of your plugin do this…?? Or do you know of any plugin out there that does this…?? Have come up with a blank so far…[:0(
Thanks in advance.

MemberHey @driven13,
This is a great question! I’m surprised I haven’t seen it come up more often.
I’m afraid The Events Calendar (or any of our add-ons) do not do private or personal calendars, at least in the way you might be looking for. The closest I think it gets is creating an event category based on each user, then using the unique URL for each category to link users directly to their calendar.
It would certainly be possible to then add a function that looks at the current category, then determines if (a) the user is logged in and (b) that user is the person who should be allowed to view that category URL. We have some examples of conditional wrappers that might help you get started, but it will certainly take a bit of custom development to make it all work out.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know if you have any other questions and I’d be happy to help as best I can.
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff.
Appreciate the response.
That may be one of the ways to get around it. But then, others may guess the category names and then can view other calendars based on Category.

MemberHey @driven13,
Just to clarify, what I was describing was a method for checking the logged in status of a user and using the conditional statements to either show or not show events based on who they are. In other words, even if someone could guess the category name, that person wouldn’t be able to see that category’s events, unless they are signed in as the correct user to that category.
Like I said though, it certainly would take a little bit of custom development and that might be the kicker.
Do you have any other pre-sales questions I can help answer? Let me know and I’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers!
