Calendar for choosing between available dates for an event?

Hi, both the Event Calendar and the Tickets plugins seem to be geared towards single events on a single date.

Suppose you have an event available for a month – same thing each day for a month – people book tickets for a specific day. The typical ‘sequence’ for your plugin seems to be that you start with a calendar view displaying all events – in this case all ‘events’ link to the same single ‘Event’ (available for a month). Fair enough so far, I suppose.

But then the customer clicks on purchase at the bottom of the description of the “Single Event”. They then need to select which day they want to go. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect them to click back and select the day from the previous page (or to have decided in advance of reading the details). Is there a way to display a ‘simple’ calendar for selecting which day the ticket being purchased should apply to?

I hope the question makes sense. The point is they won’t really be selecting “which event” from a calendar, so much as “which date” for an event.

Thanks for reaching out and I’m glad you’re checking out The Events Calendar and WooCommerce Tickets. 🙂

It is a great combo for many reasons, but probably not for the scenario you’re going for. You’re absolutely right that being able to sell tickets for a specific day in a multi-day event would be a great feature. There is something on our feature request forum that looks very similar to what you’re looking for — a global stock of tickets for a particular event — it would be great if you added your vote there (or suggested a separate one, if appropriate) so we can have that on the radar.

It is an interesting idea: inverting the relationship between events and tickets. I wish I had something more concrete for you here, but hopefully this at least helps answer your question. 🙂
