ParticipantWe’ve created some custom post types (trips) that have a number of advanced custom field (ACF) sets, plus we’ve build out a custom template theme. Now we’d like to be able to pull these into a calendar display.
a) Is it possible to display custom post types that are not created in The Events Calendar? We’d want the post title, excerpt, and link to.
b) Can they be displayed via an ACF date field and not the post publish date?
c) What about multiple or repeating dates? We’ve already built out this content in the CPT and would like to make it so we’re only working from there, if possible, so it doesn’t make sense for us to install an event plugin and then have to repeat everything in it.
Any thoughts on a solution would be much appreciated.

KeymasterHi there,
Thanks for reaching out. I will try to help with your questions.
Our plugins do not support other post types out of the box. We do have an easy system for overriding templates with customizations, but with a different post type, you might be reinventing the wheel. Events have their own field for storing the date that is distinct from the publish date.
Our premium plugin The Events Calendar Pro adds support for recurring events. You can read more about how this works in this knowledgebase article.
Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any further questions.
Thanks,

KeymasterHi again,
You can read more about customizing the Events Templates here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
You can customize the templates as needed, and add your custom fields where you would like the data to display.
Thanks,

ParticipantTo be clear, I’m talking about ACF fields that I’ve already created in
another custom post type, not custom fields within The Events calendar,
unless I can create a relationship between them in order to display the
custom post types in a calendar format.ᐧ

KeymasterHi again,
You might check out this extension in our extensions library: https://theeventscalendar.com/extensions/linked-post-type-instructors/
However, I’m not sure if this is what you’re wanting to do: it’s integrating another post type into the event post type by association. We already do this with Organizers and Venues, which are their own post types.
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
