    Does the calendar display the future months into the future when no events are present, so that people can see what days/months are free?

    Yes, it does 🙂 You can test it out by installing our free plugin, The Events Calendar, to your site now. You can also take a look at our demo site with all our plugins activated at http://wpshindig.com/events.
