The front end of my calendar is frozen. This seems to have happened after I moved hosting to WP Engine and enabled an SSL, but this doesn’t seem to be connected. When I try to filter events or click on the arrow buttons for the next month, the calendar washes out and freezes.

    Sorry to hear this, Chuck!

I just checked out your site and found that all of the events features and Filter Bar features worked fine.

I am using Firefox on a Mac and couldn’t recreate problems in this browser or in Chrome or Safari on the same Mac. In what browser and operating system do you see the issues? And do you notice any different behavior if you try a different browser, or different computer?

    Thanks,
    George

I have tried multiple browsers with the same issue. I’m running Windows 10.

Have you tried clicking to the next month? That’s one place where I get a hangup.

Interesting. I’m real sorry for the trouble here and that we’re finding different things — just to establish my findings a bit, here is a screencast of me just exploring the calendar features on your site → https://cloudup.com/c3j_QrehNLk

It’s not a very entertaining video, of course…but it may be useful — maybe you’ll see what I’m seeing and have a specific recommendation for me to click or try after watching?

I just recorded and uploaded the video, so if you click the link there for it and it says that the video is still converting, no worries — just check it again in a few minutes and it should be finished converting and ready to watch.

    Thanks for your patience here!

    Cheers,
    George

I watched your video and it looked correct. I then tested it on two other computers, then on different networks, then on my phone (both on wifi and data) and I still saw the problem. I also later received an email from a customer stating that the site wasn’t working.

I noticed that there was an update to the plugin today. I applied it hoping that it would fix the issue, but it didn’t. So I’m at a loss, but my site is not working. Can you take one more look, perhaps from another browser with your cache cleared? Thanks!

So sorry for the continued weirdness here, @Chuck! 🙁

In Firefox, Safari, and Chrome alike—with refreshed caches each—I cannot reproduce the problem. I am reaching out to some other folks on our team and will report what we can find.

Thanks so much for your patience here Chuck. I admit that I’m scratching my head a bit over this, but I’m determined to figure out what’s going on.

    Cheers!

Great. Thank you! I would have chalked this up to some weirdness with my browser/computer, but I have others that are having the same issue, so I’m sure someone can replicate this issue. Thanks again! Looking forward to your reply.

    Hey Chuck,

    Thanks for patience here.

One thing that has come up in our investigation has been the following error in the JavaScript console when viewing your site:

tribe-events-ajax-calendar.js?ver=4.2.7:496 Uncaught SecurityError: Failed to execute 'pushState' on 'History': A history state object with URL 'http://coloradocprpros.com/events/2016-11/' cannot be created in a document with origin 'https://coloradocprpros.com' and URL 'https://coloradocprpros.com/events/2016-10/'.

What this error means is basically that some of your domain is configured to use HTTPS, while other parts of it are not. This gets blocked in many browsers and is preventing the AJAX functionality in some browsers as you and your visitors have been reporting.

To get this fixed, I would recommend contacting the WP Engine support team about the application of your site’s SSL certificate. Did WP Engine set up the certificate? Did you do it manually?

In either case, WP Engine should be able to tell what it is about the SSL configuration that is creating this problem. It may be a simple fix.

I’m really sorry to recommend contacting another support team, Chuck — I do think that pursuing this route about the SSL configuration on your site will lead to a resolution here, though.

Please let me know what you think!

Glad to hear things resolved, Chuck. Thanks for your patience here!

Open a new thread on these forums any time if other issues or questions arise. For now, best of luck with your project. 😀

    Sincerely,
    George
