ParticipantHi
we are using events calendar pro. we need to be able to add tickets to recurring events.
i have looked at your event ticket plus but it says that it does not work with recurring events.
we have woocommerce installed. can you suggest the best plugin to use to add ticket sales to events.
woo has two plugins tickets and boxofficecan you tell me if these will work with recurring events ?
ALSO : Yes, automatically share my system information with the Modern Tribe support team WILL NOT STAY TICKED
it comes up with No route was found matching the URL and request method Code:rest_no_route Status:404
many thanksJuly 17, 2017 at 8:05 pm #1322446Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Alyson and welcome back!
Thank you for reaching out to us.
I would love to help you with this topic. You are right. Our current support of tickets for recurring events is fairly limited.
By default, Event Tickets Plus does work.
However, it only allows for one set of tickets for ALL the recurring events. In other words, all of the events in the series are using the same ticket pool.
For some of our customers, that works.Compatibility is in the works, but at this point we cannot commit to a release date unfortunately.
The only work around is to:
- create the recurring event series
- break all the events from the series
- add tickets to the events indidually
The obvious downside is that these are no longer true recurring events, but rather a bunch of independent events.
As per your 2 other plugins:
- Tickets for WooCommerce has evolved into Event Tickets Plus. So this is not a different plugin.
- Box office is a great plugin. If you keep the integration simple (paste the WooCommerce product code in each individual event) I believe that could work.
As for the system information sharing, on certain servers, it simply not possible to keep it ticked.
I would not overly worry about that though. Worst case being, you can always paste the info in a private reply.Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantHi Geoff
Thank you for you reply. There are some parts of your answer that i do not understand
“In other words, all of the events in the series are using the same ticket pool.” what does that mean? there is one price all the recurring events or that there is a ticket for each recurring event but with the same slug so we are unable to see who is coming when?
please can you clarifyhow do i do i:
create the recurring event series
break all the events from the series
add tickets to the events individuallyis there a tutorial as to how to do this?
With the woo box office it will only work with individual events like above?
Also importantly which plugin Tickets Plus or Box office will integrate with facebook so people can book directly from facebook?
many thanks

MemberGood evening Alyson,
Thank you for writing back.
all of the events in the series are using the same ticket pool.
That means that:
- Each event displays the exact same tickets
- You cannot tell for which of the events a person has bought a ticket for
This typically works great for situations such as a class that is held over several weeks, but where you pay a one time fee for all the series.
I believe you will learn how to create a recurring events series and break events from that series by reading the following: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-recurring-events/
add tickets to the events individually
If you add a ticket to the event right after creating the events series, this ticket will apply as a shared ticket (between all the events in the series – as described above).
If you first break the events from the series, and then add the tickets, each event will get its own unique ticket.
To add tickets, I would recommend reading the following: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-tickets/
With the woo box office it will only work with individual events like above?
We have not tested Woo box office integration, so this hard to say.
What I can tell you is that this product was not specifically intended to integrate with ours. But, as with all things, depending on what you are trying to accomplish specifically, it might work for you.
Also importantly which plugin Tickets Plus or Box office will integrate with facebook so people can book directly from facebook?
Regardless of the plugin you will use, you will need an extra step to link your WooCommerce store to Facebook.
There are a couple of ways to do this.
Here are a couple of links to get you started.
You preferred solution will probably depend on what your needs are:- https://woocommerce.com/products/facebook/
- https://wordpress.org/plugins/facebook-shop-by-storeyacom/
- https://www.facebook.com/business/help/community/question/?id=10156496772825291
n.b.: you might have to set the catalog visibility of your tickets to “visible” for this to work.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantHi Geoff
SO if i create a recurring events series and break events from that series in order to allow separate tickets would that mean that it would mess up my photo view calendar? in otherwords would it make all the events individual and so the calendar will be filled with the individual events rather and one recurring event?July 24, 2017 at 7:11 pm #1325551Geoff B.
MemberGood evening Alyson,
You are absolutely right, breaking events from the series makes them all unique individual events.
This also means that the built-in options to control recurring events display will not work with them.Understandably, this is less than ideal.
But keep in mind, we are working hard at making this a full-feature.It is actually far more complex than you would expect to achieve. But we will get it done!
Best regards,
Geoff B.

Participantwhen do you think you will achieve it?

MemberGood evening Alyson,
That is a great question it has been at the very top of our new feature list for a while now.
In fact, we re-built our recurring events architecture from scratch to be able to support that.If all goes well, the tentative date for this level of effort would be Q1 of next year.
Fingers crossed.I wish I had a better answer for you, but for now it’s the best one I have unfortunately.
Have a great day!
