ParticipantI have an event setup linked to an Eventbrite event. Everything was working perfectly.
The event is today, in 3 hours. All of a sudden, the Eventbrite ticket information disappeared off of the event page. I checked the settings and everything appeared to be working.
I tried to update the event to at least manually add a link to the Eventbrite page. When I did that, I got an error message that Eventbrite only allows for updating of events in the future.
This event IS in the future. It’s in a few hours. I can go to the Eventbrite page itself and update it just fine. But I cannot update the event page in WordPress. Your plugin seems to think that the event is in the past when it in fact isn’t.
The site settings do reflect the proper timezone to make sure that wasn’t the problem.
This happened to a previous event as well so it’s a repeatable bug.

ParticipantHi lloydsilver,
Sorry to hear about the trouble here. So it sounds like there’s two problem, one, the ticket information suddenly disappears from the page, and two, you cannot update the event manually from WordPress?
Is this happening for all events linked to Eventbrite? Or, are there specific parameters where it seems to pop up? Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to see if there’s a conflict going on?

ParticipantIt’s happening with all events linked to eventbrite.
I think It’s just one issue. The plugin thinks the event is in the past. Therefore it disabled the eventbrite ticket from the page and doesn’t allow the event to be edited as well.

ParticipantThere is no conflict with other plugins – tried. It’s something with yours unfortunately.
I imported a test event setup in Eventbrite scheduled for 4 hours from now. I could not save/publish the event as I got the error message that Eventbrite only allows updating of events in the future.
So I believe your plugin treats all events on the current day as in the past regardless of the time.

ParticipantOk. Are you getting this error message: http://cl.ly/image/2M0c0c2Y2e2E ? There is a limitation with Eventbrite’s API that does not allow for editing an event on the same day and that is still associated with Eventbrite. You can do one of two things:
1. Delete the event in WordPress, update the event on Eventbrite and re-import.
2. Remove the connection with Eventbrite with this option when editing the event: http://cl.ly/image/1A003k3w2h02 – and then you can change whatever you want in WordPress.Unfortunately there’s not much else that can be done right now because of the API limitation. If Eventbrite changes this on their end, we’ll be able to lift the limitation on ours.
Let me know if you have any questions or need anything else.

ParticipantThat is the error message.
If it were just an issue with editing the event that would be okay.
But it’s also removing the Eventbrite ticket from the WP event page. So people have no way of registering on the day of event unless I edit the event, remove the connection to Eventbrite (since I can’t update an event linked to Eventbrite on the same day), and then manually add a link to the description that sends people to the Eventbrite page.June 6, 2013 at 3:33 pm #50773Jonah
ParticipantHi lloydsilver,
I’m unable to reproduce this issue with an event today so I’ve created an event on Eventbrite that starts tomorrow and imported into WordPress with the EB tickets displayed and will need to wait until tomorrow to verify the issue. I’ll check back in tomorrow 🙂

ParticipantHi lloydsilver,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this. I’ve done some more testing and found a possible workaround for now. It does seem like there is some bug though and I’m going to create a ticket for this for one of the devs to take a look at. So what I found is that if you first set the default ticket display to ‘On’ in the Events > Settings > General tab (http://cl.ly/image/3J2p0U3Q1C01) and then import the event like usual, if you try to Publish the event from the edit screen it will not work. This appears to be part of the bug. But, if you go to the events list in the administration and Quick Edit that event, you can Publish it there and then make any changes and the ticket window should display. Please try this out and let me know if that works for you. Like I said I’ll create a ticket for one of the devs to take a look at this issue.
Thanks,

ParticipantAny update as to a fix?
June 24, 2013 at 11:33 am #52077Jonah
ParticipantHi lloydsilver,
Unfortunately no. It is on the list of bugs to fix in the future but I cannot provide an exact date as to when it will make it into a release.

ParticipantIn my opinion, this bug renders the Eventbrite module virtually worthless. Every event I add, I have to edit the day of the event to remove the link to Eventbrite and to manually add a link to the registration page. Your developers really need to make this a priority.

ParticipantHi lloydsilver,
Our developers are looking into getting this fixed soon. We need to determine whether or not it’s a limitation with Eventbrite’s API or something that we can fix on our end. If it’s the latter we should be able to fix it much sooner. Stay tuned for another update.

ParticipantHi lloydsilver,
Just wanted to give you a quick update on this. We haven’t determined the culprit here but will be patching this in a subsequent dot-release in the near future. I can’t tell you exactly when it will be, but it should be soon.
If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thanks,
